OUR MODEL BRINGS CHANGE AND IT WORKS
We work to change lives
WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED
HOW WE DOÂ IT
WE IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM
Low transition rates from primary to secondary schools and from secondary to tertiary institutions of learning.
1 in 5 students that start grade 1 will not graduate grade 12.
With no meaningful education children fall back to their villages and end up working for less than a dollar a day.
And the vicious cycle of poverty will continue for generations to come.
WE IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM
Families are poor and illiterate; and therefore parents are not able to support their children’s learning goals
Schools infrastructure including classrooms and desks are lacking or dilapidated
Teachers do not have instructional materials and are poorly equipped to support school curriculum especially in STEM.
Tuition fees for secondary schools is extremely high; beyond capabilities of more than 90% of parents.
School enrollment for girls is impeded by social cultural believes, teenage pregnancies, lack of sanitary/ hygiene products and facilities
HIV/ AIDS still remains a challenge to most families.
WE HELP IMPLEMENT LOCAL DRIVEN SOLUTIONS
Bidii Children’s Charity offers scholarships to children and youth that have exhibited hard work, self-motivation and potential to succeed.
We work to equip teachers with resources to enable them support the students who are already experiencing hardships due to their poor backgrounds.
We help schools and communities to install water tanks that will help in water harvesting during the rainy seasons
We provide economic and leadership opportunities so that women and other vulnerable adults can champion change
